A Diver-Friendly Cozumel Villa Near the Reefs

As a longtime scuba diver and SSI Open Water Instructor, I know how much easier a Cozumel dive trip is when your gear, boat pickup, and location all work together.

We've set up the villa with divers in mind, including a rinse station and dedicated gear-drying area. Many dive operators can also pick guests up directly from the Costa del Sol community pier, so you can skip hauling your gear across the island before a morning dive.

Located in Cozumel's south hotel zone, Costa del Sol puts you closer to many of the island's famous southern reefs. That can mean less boat time and more time underwater, which is always a win in my book!

Fully Equipped Kitchen & Open Living Space

This isn't a vacation rental kitchen stocked with one frying pan and three mismatched forks. Guests regularly tell us how much they appreciate having a kitchen that's actually stocked for a group vacation.

Whether you're making breakfast before a morning dive, mixing sunset cocktails, or having a private chef prepare dinner at the villa, you'll have the space and essentials you need.

Full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave for easy meals at the villa

Drip coffee makers because mornings in Cozumel still require coffee

Charcoal grill for outdoor cooking and laid-back island dinners

UV-purified and bottled drinking water provided for guests

Fresh herbs from the villa garden when available

The open-concept living area gives everyone room to gather, with comfortable seating, coastal decor, and sliding doors leading to the villa's private patio.

Whether it's morning coffee, post-dive stories, or cocktails before dinner, this is where everyone seems to end up.

Stay in Costa del Sol on Cozumel's South Side

We've Gone Coastal Villa is located in Costa del Sol, a gated oceanfront community in Cozumel's south hotel zone. It's a quieter alternative to staying downtown while still keeping you within an easy taxi or drive of San Miguel, restaurants, beach clubs, and island adventures.

For Jefe' and me, the south-side location is one of the things we love most, especially when we're diving. The private community pier makes boat pickups easy with participating dive operators, and many of Cozumel's famous southern reefs are just a short boat ride away.

Costa del Sol also offers 24-hour security, an oceanfront infinity pool, children's pool, beach access, palapas, loungers, and plenty of space to slow down and enjoy the Caribbean.

It's a setting that works beautifully for families, groups of friends, and dive trips, whether you're planning every minute or happily doing absolutely nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Cozumel Villa

Is the villa directly on the beach?

We've Gone Coastal Villa is located in the oceanfront Costa del Sol community, just steps from the Caribbean Sea, beach, and infinity pool. The villa itself has a partial ocean view, and one of the things we love is being able to walk out the door and be at the waterfront in just moments.

How many guests does the villa sleep?

The villa sleeps up to 10 guests across three spacious bedroom suites, so there's plenty of room for families and groups to spread out. The Mermaid Room has a king bed, while the Cozumel Room and Beach Room each have two double beds. Each suite also has its own private ensuite bathroom, which is especially nice when everyone is trying to get ready for a dive day or a night out in Cozumel.

Does the villa have a private pool?

No. The villa does not have a private pool. Guests have access to the Costa del Sol community's beautiful oceanfront infinity pool, which is just steps from the villa. There's also a children's pool and beachfront lounging areas. We love being able to walk down for a swim, find a lounger, and spend a few hours by the Caribbean without ever having to leave Costa del Sol.

Can dive boats pick us up at the Costa del Sol pier?

Yes. Many Cozumel dive operators can arrange pickups directly from the Costa del Sol community pier. We love being able to gear up at the villa, walk down to the pier, and meet the dive boat right there. Just confirm pier pickup with your dive operator when booking. And as a scuba instructor and longtime Cozumel diver, I'm always happy to share my favorite dive recommendations.

Is the villa good for scuba diving groups?

Absolutely. We're divers ourselves and have set up the villa with dive trips in mind. The villa has an outdoor shower, a dedicated rinse station, and plenty of hooks for hanging and drying dive gear between dives. Many dive operators can also pick guests up from the Costa del Sol community pier.

Is snorkeling available at Costa del Sol?

Guests can snorkel from the Costa del Sol waterfront and community pier area when conditions are right. One of the things we love is being able to grab our masks and fins, walk down to the water, and slip into the Caribbean for a little underwater exploring whenever the mood strikes.

How far is Costa del Sol from downtown San Miguel?

Costa del Sol is located south of San Miguel in Cozumel's south hotel zone. We usually plan on about a 10- to 15-minute taxi or drive into town for dinner, shopping, or a night around the main plaza, so it's easy to enjoy downtown while coming home to the quieter south side of the island.

Do we need a rental car in Cozumel?

Not necessarily. Many of our guests use taxis or private drivers to get into San Miguel, visit restaurants, and explore the island. A rental car can be convenient if you plan to explore Cozumel independently or make multiple trips around the island. I'm happy to help you think through which option works best for your plans.

Is Costa del Sol a gated community?

Yes. Costa del Sol is a gated oceanfront community with 24-hour security. Guests check in at the community entrance when they arrive, and we love the added peace of mind and relaxed feel of staying in the community.

Is the villa good for families with children?

Yes. The three-suite layout gives families plenty of room to spread out, and we've added little things that can make traveling with kids easier, including a Pack-n-Play, toys, pool floats, and kid-friendly utensils. Costa del Sol also has a children's pool in addition to the oceanfront infinity pool, which is especially nice when you're traveling with little island adventurers.

Can you help arrange grocery delivery or a private chef?

Yes! I love helping guests make their Cozumel stay a little easier. I'm happy to share options for grocery delivery and personal shopping, or help connect you with a private chef for a special meal right at the villa. It's all part of helping you spend less time figuring out the details and more time enjoying Cozumel.
