Miami Bar (Mojito House or Liquor Box)

This cozy little beach bar is known by many names, but whatever you call it, it’s a great stop on the loop. It offers an incredible view of the ocean and is home to the island’s best mojitos.

Their signature drinks, like the Mojito and “Papa’s Secret,” are made fresh to order with fresh fruits. The seafood, caught fresh daily, makes this spot even better. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself lounging here for hours, mesmerized by the waves crashing on the shore.

📸 Perfect for: Sipping on a Papa’s Secret or Mojito while lounging in a hammock with a view.

Blowholes (Where the Ocean Breathes)

One of Cozumel’s most magical natural spots! These volcanic rock formations shoot seawater high into the air with every crashing wave — nature’s own fountain show. You’ll hear them before you see them.

This stop is marked on our Beach Bar Loop map , but it’s totally optional. Feel free to take a peek if you're cruising by, or build it into a longer wild-side adventure.

💙 Want to know where to park, what to watch for, and why this stop is one of Dory’s faves?

El Mirador

This rocky outcrop is one of Cozumel’s most iconic viewpoints with crashing waves, salt-sprayed air, and a rugged natural arch carved by the sea. But just across the road, you’ll find something even more flavorful.

A row of small market booths offers handmade souvenirs and gifts, but the real treasure? The tequila tasting stop tucked among the vendors.

You’ll be warmly welcomed to sample a lineup of locally crafted tequilas from crisp blanco to smooth añejo and rich extra añejo. One of our top 3 favorite tequilas on the entire island comes from this very stop. They also offer tasty flavored options like coconut, coffee, and almond.

💙 Dory’s Treasure Tip:

Try the extra añejo - it's their smoothest pour, and perfect for sipping. Don't forget to pick up a bottle as a souvenir. They’ll even bubble-wrap it for travel!

Chen Río

This beloved wild-side beach makes for a quick scenic stop or a longer, relaxing stay if you’ve got time. Chen Río is one of the few east coast beaches where you can comfortably get in the water. casual restaurants, small souvenir stands, and a few little shops nearby, making it a great mid-route refresh.

But the real surprise? There's often a crocodile sunning itself just across the road on the north (inland) side of the beach! Keep your eyes peeled and you’ll likely spot a small crowd checking him out. He’s a local icon.

💡 This stop is marked on the Beach Bar Loop map but feel free to skip or stop depending on your vibe. If you’re doing a custom loop, Chen Río makes a perfect splash-and-snack break.

💙 Dory’s Treasure Tip:

Want a relaxed lunch or snack by the sea? Grab a table at the Restaurante Chen Río for fresh seafood and a breezy beach view - just steps from the sand.

Coconuts - Ocean Views

Next, take a short drive down the coast to Coconuts, perched at Cozumel’s highest point with breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline. This spot is all about the views, great music, and the relaxed jungle vibe.

The bar has a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re under a thatched roof on a rainy day or lounging in a hammock overlooking the sea, Coconuts offers one of the best hangouts on the island.

📸 Pro Tip: Don’t forget your camera - these views are Instagram-worthy and worth the climb!

Mezcalito’s - Margaritas & Hammocks

As you continue south along the loop, you’ll hit Mezcalito’s Beach Bar, one of the oldest and most beloved spots on the island. Known for its delicious margaritas, shrimp tacos, and beach hammocks, Mezcalito’s offers a classic Cozumel experience.

It's a relaxed, no-frills bar where you can unwind with a drink and enjoy a beautiful beachside setting.

Set up in a laid-back style with hammocks, a few tables, and lots of seating at the bar. The bartenders are skilled at mixing up refreshing drinks, and they're always happy to chat with patrons and provide recommendations.

Mezcalito's also serves a range of tasty snacks and light bites, including ceviche and fish tacos.

📸 Perfect for: Kicking back with a margarita and taking in the laid-back vibe.

Señor Iguanas - The Grand Finale

Just beside Mezcalito’s, you'll find Senor Iguanas, your last must-see bar / beach restaurant on Cozumel’s Beach Bar Loop. This lively spot features delicious cocktails, fresh seafood, and a perfect setting for those who want to experience the true flavor of Cozumel.

The casual vibe makes it a favorite hangout for both locals and tourists, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. With great food and a extensive bar, this is the perfect spot to end your day with some great cocktails and authentic mexican food and seafood.

My favorites are the Margarita’s, Chelada’s and Ceviche! Don’t miss the mixto ceviche and fish tacos - they’re fabulous!

📸 Perfect for: Enjoying some cold drinks with a view of the crystal-clear water.

Tip: Stop in on a Sunday afternoon and there is often a band playing.
